Reducing Pessimism in 3 Easy Steps!

Do you ever find yourself viewing the world from a negative perspective? Is the glass half empty?

Everyone has to fight pessimism from time to time. Here are 3 easy steps to help you overcome your negative outlook:

  1. List your recent accomplishments. It can be easy to focus on the problems, but many times when we do that we forget all the great things we have already achieved. Take a moment and list some of the things you’ve done well recently.
  2. Remember your big goals. When faced with adversity we can become too focused on the short term hindrances in our lives. Take a moment to step back and look at the 10,000 ft view. Problems seem easily surmountable when you are looking towards your big goals.
  3. Force yourself to list 3 good things that have happened to you this week. It may seem futile, but take a moment and force yourself to see the positive. This will help you refocus on things that are more optimistic.

Take initiative in your life to be more positive. No one has ever achieved more because of a negative or pessimistic attitude. Each of us is destined for great things and you are missing out if you allow pessimistic thoughts to take over your consciousness.

Be passionate and enthusiastic about life’s opportunities every day! Go get the world!
